26 May 2025: We discovered an error in the version of DROPLET 1.3.2, released in April 2023. The Arrhenius activation energy to correct the degradation rate in water for the effect of temperature is a factor 1000 too low. The impact of this error on the PEC_Tier1 in the abstraction points has a limited impact and is more pronounced for compounds with fast degradation in water. E.g. for FOCUS example substance A and D (both with a Koc of 10 L/kg, but a DegT50,water of 1, resp. 10 d; 1 application of 1 kg/ha on winter cereals (substance A), on sugar beets and potatoes (substance D)) the largest differences were observed for the abstraction point in Heel: 0 vs 0.002 µg/L for substance A and 0.054 vs 0.046 µg/L for substance D, calculated by DROPLET 1.3.2 vs DROPLET 1.4.2.
We are currently working on the release of the new version 1.4.2, which we will release as soon as possible. For more information, please contact us by using the contact form.
